March Monthly Meeting Report

March’s PA meeting included further discussion around the use of iPads in school: we were joined by a parent from Piper’s Hill School, Naas who outlined her son’s experience of e-learning, as well as the practical aspects involved (cost, insurance etc.).
 
Other items discussed at this month’s meeting included –
  • Community Awareness of Drugs- Family Focus course for parents will run in the school, commencing 16th April
  • Parent's Association will ask parents to recycle any unwanted uniforms at the end of the school year. The uniforms will be given to St. Raphael’s Charity Shop for sale (date of sale TBA)
The Principal’s Report gave details on the following items –
  • Improved Broadband service to the school should be in place for September 2013
  • IT staff are also investigating options re: e-learning and possible future introduction of on-line payment scheme for registration, supervised study and exam fees.
  • Music Recital Night – March 21st
  • Cyber Bullying talk for all students will take place on March 14th
The next PA Committee meeting will be held on 30/04/13 and will include a review of the PA Constitution.
