February Monthly Meeting Report

The first PA Committee meeting of 2013 involved discussion on the use of iPads in schools. Ms Barry reported on a recent fact-finding visit she, and members of the IT staff, made to Malahide Community School to see their system in operation.

The PA Committee decided to invite a parent, from a school already using iPads, to our next meeting to give a “parent’s perspective” via a Q&A session.

There has been no response, to date, from Kildare County Council to the letter sent from the PA/BOM highlighting our concerns around parking/traffic issues. It was agreed that Ms Barry should write to Burchill’s Bus Co. asking them to ensure they use the designated bus bay as a drop-off/collection point for students.

The Principal’s Report included details on

• Refurbishment of the School Library
• Information Night for 3rd Years re: Transition Year
• Visit of 2nd/Transition Year students to Young Scientist Competition
• Future talk for all students re Cyber Bullying

The next PA Committee meeting will be held on 12/03/13.
